Automated Export System (AES)
AES is a government system that monitors the export and re-export of goods. The system forms an integrated Cargonaut chain solution to ensure that goods leaving the EU via Schiphol Airport or Maastricht-Aachen Airport comply with the Union Customs Code.
As part of this process, Cargonaut translates the export information received into a specific declaration to be submitted to the authorities and monitors the process until the goods leave the EU customs territory.
This is made possible by the fact that Cargonaut has insight into crucial steps in the export process at Schiphol Airport, such as the applicable customs regime, the transfer of goods between parties and the actual outbound departure from the EU. The party who submitted an initial export declaration only receives Confirmation of Exit from the authorities when all required notifications have been made correctly through Cargonaut.

What benefits does AES offer me?
- Through AES, the authorities automatically receive a declaration of goods arriving at the departure location within the EU. The status of these notifications is easy to track.
- Export data can be submitted in different ways (e.g. Portal, ENO messages or PGTS) depending on the way you operate.
- Goods re-exported via Transit or ICS2.0, for example, automatically generate the required government notifications, eliminating the need for manual steps.
- All goods on outbound flights are registered and reported to the authorities, ensuring compliance with legal requirements at all times.

Who is AES for?
AES is for all parties exporting or re-exporting goods from Schiphol Airport or Maastricht-Aachen Airport.
