How do I announce shipments in advance?

This can be done in two ways:

  1. Through the PGTS front and back office portals. These portals include a ‘pre-announcement’ button. Click the button to enter the required information and then submit the pre-announcement.
  2. Using your own software. Consult your software supplier to find out how the software can be used to announce shipments in advance through the PGTS.

How do I make a correction?

This can be done in two ways:

  1. Through the PGTS back office portal. In the portal, select the transaction you wish to correct and click the pencil to make the necessary changes. Remember to click ‘submit’ to implement your corrections.
  2. Using your own software. Consult your software supplier to find out how the software can be used to correct a transaction in the PGTS.

Why is my ISL/USL/ISC/USC/etc. transaction not visible?

There could be several reasons for this. The most common of these are given below.

  1. There is a technical issue. Such issues are always reported on our website.
  2. The transaction is taking longer than usual to process. Do not try to resubmit the message, as this may result in a duplicate transaction that you will have to correct later.

How should I include a DECO in the message?

Use the ADMIN code and in the free text input field enter DECO and the permit number of the party in DECO.

This should be done as follows:

Document type: X

Declaration type: ADMIN

Declaration number: DECO + permit number

What is the difference between the front and back office?

In the front office, you can view your shipments and make a pre-announcement if you wish.

In the back office, you can view your shipments, make a pre-announcement and also make corrections to transactions if necessary.

Why is the PGTS circle red?

The circle is red because some of the PGTS obligations have not yet been met. The most common reasons are:
No pre-arrival declaration (VAB) has yet been submitted.

  1. The numbers in the VAB do not match the FWB.
  2. No registration has yet been made and you are a participant in the transaction.

Why is my shipment stuck in the system?

Lack of progress through the system is probably due to a mismatch between transaction numbers or a failure by you or another party to submit a transaction.
