PGTS supports participants with a compliant process that meets the requirements of the applicable laws and regulations. It provides an efficient way to manage flows of goods transported under customs supervision between the first and second lines of warehouses at Schiphol Airport.
In 2005, a tracking system was set up under the Dutch abbreviation DGVS with the aim of safeguarding customs supervision. Since the introduction of the Union Customs Code (UCC) in 2016, most goods at Schiphol are transported between participants under the terms of Space for Temporary Storage. To comply with new regulations, the original tracking system underwent a full upgrade and was renamed PGTS.
PGTS enables transport to take place without traditional customs procedures, such as transport declarations (MRN-T1, TIR, ATA-Carnet) and customs clearance documents (MRN-IMA). This promotes speed and efficiency of transport, while continuing to offer the possibility of checks to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

What benefits does PGTS offer me?
- The scaling back of physical checks and customs procedures saves you time.
- More accurate tracking of shipment location gives you an up-to-date overview of all transactions in the central web portal.
- A reduced administrative burden results in lower costs.
