The Single Window means one digital window for your communication with the Government. Data exchange between businesses and authorities will become faster, better and easier. What will you have to do to connect and what is in it for you?
To start with the first question: You do’nt have to do anything! Cargonaut have long been working on the preparations and adjustments to realize the new communication by September 1, 2017. Air Single Window will be connected on our new platform. And we shall ensure that your messages meet the government specifications. These are the messages that have to do with the import processes (ICS), export processes (ECS) and provisioning. Enough about technique. Air Single Window brings even more. It is the first step to a Main Port Single Window.
Schiphol has to deal with more cargo and more passengers. With the same footprint, this means that existing resources should be used more efficiently. The Smart Cargo Main Port Program (SCMP) focuses on reducing the turnaround time, a high degree of predictability, controlled flexibility and lower costs for the entire chain. With frontrunners a blueprint is defined and pilot projects are started for new generic products that can be later adopted by parties in the chain.
For this purpose, inter alia, 100% data coverage and improvement of the quality of the data is needed. In consultation with our stakeholders Cargonaut will use the coming year to increase data coverage and the reuse of data. This in order to optimize chains and facilitate Green Fast Lanes. This allows for greater predictability in the chains and even creation of new chains to Schiphol make the smartest cargo airport. And this for the benefit of all parties who use Schiphol as a hub in their logistics.
Reuse of data by various chain partners and government raise the question about ownership of the data and data sharing. In that respect agreements will have to be made. We invite you to reflect with us on this subject.
